EMASUD’s environmental protection group in response to climate change has developed a project to produce earthworms from household food waste. The earthworms are for fish and poultry farmers and the bird community. Other waste is used as fertilizer for agriculture, including vegetables. These products have had a reliable market due to the presence of reliable customers. The project is a source of income for young people and self-employment. EMASUD provides training to young people who want to become self-employed in earthworm production.
